  4. All matches to be played off scratch. Tees of the day to be used.
  5. No player may represent more than one club in each annual competition and must have nominated the Club as their Home Club for Handicap purposes.
  6. Play will be MATCH PLAY over eighteen holes and in the event of any game being all square after eighteen holes, play shall continue by ‘sudden death’ until a definite result is obtained.
  7. The club at the top of each pair shall have choice of venue in both Preliminary and First Round matches. Thereafter until the semi-final stage, the venue shall be decided by the toss of a coin or other means. In Section 1, the third round match involving the Isle of Wight Club shall be an Away fixture for the Isle of Wight Club.
  8. In Section 2 the fourth round match involving the Channel Islands Club shall be an Away fixture for the Channel Islands Club.
  9. It shall be the responsibility of each Club Secretary to report the result of the match to the County Secretary as soon as possible DURING OFFICE HOURS (09:00 -17:00 Monday - Friday). Note: It should not be left to the Junior Organiser or Team Captain.

  12. All matches will be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf and the local rules of the club where each match is played except that the Golf Union authorises the use of Distance Measuring Devices.  See Para 16 below.

  15. The winning team shall represent the County in the EGU Junior Club Championship, which will be played at Woodhall Spa on 25-26 August 2012.
  16. The following Local Rule applies with regard to Distance Measuring Devices:
In this competition a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only.  If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g. gradient, windspeed, temperature etc) the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification.

All matches must be played by the due date. If left to the last possible day for completion of the round and weather or course conditions are such that the match cannot be played, it is possible that both teams may be disqualified. If your opponents offer a choice of two or three dates, it would seem reasonable to accept one, rather than insist on your own choice. Neither is it reasonable to insist on undue delay because one of your player is on holiday or unavailable, particularly if that means playing after the final date for the round.  Home Clubs are asked to give their opponents a Courtesy practice round if requested.

Please note that agreed tee-off times must be adhered too, failure to do so may lead to either an individual match or team disqualification.
